The formats

What you'll actually do.

Dumbbell rack in a clean, well lit gym

Upper body
strength

45 minMon and ThuAll levels

Press, pull, row, carry. Dumbbells, bars and bands in a coached circuit, with a coach on the floor fixing your form before it fixes you. You will feel it in your back and shoulders in a good way.

  • Coached rep by rep, weights picked for you
  • Scaled for beginners and long-time lifters in the same room
  • Finish with a short conditioning piece

Lower body
strength

45 minTue and FriAll levels

Squat, hinge, lunge, carry. Kettlebells, barbells and sleds. This is the class members talk about on the stairs the next morning, and the one that changes how you look in jeans.

  • Every movement scaled to your knees, hips and history
  • Strength first, conditioning second
  • Members say this is where the numbers on the scale move

Boxing
bootcamp

45 minWed and SatNo experience needed

Gloves on. Rounds on the bag between strength and conditioning stations. Loud music, high energy, no sparring, nobody gets hit. The class members bring a friend to first.

  • Coach teaches the basic punches in the first five minutes
  • Burns a lot, builds a lot, leaves you grinning
  • Gloves available at the gym for your free class

Full body
strength

45 minWed, Fri and SatAll levels

The A Better You circuit. Every muscle group in one session, strength and conditioning mixed, coached the whole way through. If you can only make it in twice a week, make it this one.

  • Well thought out program, in members' words, not ours
  • Rowers, ropes, bells, bars and the turf
  • Great first class if you are not sure where to start

The front door

The 6 week challenge.

Six weeks, three pillars, a weigh in at the end. It is how most members start. Classes, a nutrition plan built around your kitchen, and a coach checking in every week.

The receipts: one member was down 7 lbs by week four. Three members who started on the same day finished six weeks down 12, 10 and 15 lbs. Then the monthly challenges take over so it never gets boring.

After the six weeks

Monthly challenges.

"We have monthly challenges that keep the program exciting and motivating." That is Nicole, nine months in and 20 lbs lighter. A new target every month, a leaderboard on the chalk wall, and a room that cheers.

Membership also covers the nutrition guides, the check-ins and the accountability texts. Group training, one to one training and online coaching are all available; a coach walks you through the options after your free class.

Your first class

What to bring.

Athletic clothing and footwear, water, and a willingness to sweat. Gloves for boxing are at the gym. Turn up ten minutes early so your coach can hear your goal before the music starts.

Parking: drive in the gate at 1711 B Street, right next to the empty lot on B and 7th, and park along the wooden fence. The lot is small, so park in neat rows. Everyone arrives and leaves at the same time.

Questions

Before you walk in.

Am I fit enough for this?
Yes. Every class is coached and every movement is scaled to the person doing it. Members who started at 227 lbs and members who lift heavy train in the same room, at their own pace.
Do I need boxing experience?
No. The coach teaches the basic punches in the first five minutes of boxing bootcamp. There is no sparring and nobody gets hit. It is conditioning with gloves on.
How long is a class, really?
45 minutes from the warm up to the cool down. Arrive ten minutes early for your first one. You are out inside the hour, which is the whole point for busy parents.
What if I miss a week?
You get a text from your coach, not a guilt trip. Then you come back. Accountability is part of the membership, and the plan adjusts to real life.
Is nutrition extra?
No. Nutrition guides and the weekly plan adjustments are included in the membership. The gym does the planning; you do the eating.
Where do I park?
Drive in the gate at 1711 B Street, next to the empty lot at B and 7th, and park along the wooden fence in neat rows. The lot is small and classes turn over at the same time.
